Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) Intern

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a motivated intern to support its Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) programme in Rome. Working under the Project Coordinator, you will gain hands‑on experience in migration‑related operations and contribute to the safe return and reintegration of migrants.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with counselling‑related activities for migrants opting for voluntary return.
• Support case documentation, data entry, and management of AVRR records.
• Help coordinate travel arrangements, departure procedures, and related logistics.
• Contribute to administrative processes linked to reintegration support.
• Prepare brief reports and updates for the Coordination Office for the Mediterranean.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor’s programme or a recent graduate (within 12 months).
• Age between 20 and 36 years.
• Strong interest in migration, humanitarian assistance, or international development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
