Disputes Lawyer – Commercial Insurance & D&O Liability (Junior)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Junior or Trainee Lawyer to join our leading Insurance & Corporate Risk practice in Rome. You will work alongside market‑leading partners, advising global insurance syndicates, domestic underwriters, and corporate boards on complex commercial insurance matters, with a focus on Directors & Officers (D&O) liability and related disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Coverage Analysis – review and draft complex commercial insurance policies, especially D&O, professional indemnity, product liability and financial lines.
• Dispute Resolution – assist in representing insurers and corporate directors in high‑stakes civil litigation, regulatory investigations and arbitration.
• Claims Monitoring – manage high‑value corporate claims, evaluate liability exposure and develop settlement strategies.
• Regulatory Compliance – advise clients on Italian insurance regulations (IVASS) and cross‑border distribution frameworks.
• Legal Research – conduct in‑depth research on corporate governance laws, insolvency interactions and evolving insurance market trends.

Required profile

• Law degree (Laurea in Giurisprudenza); an LL.M. in Insurance or Corporate Law is a strong advantage.
• 1–3 years of experience in a commercial law firm or in‑house legal department of an insurance company.
• Exposure to D&O or financial‑lines matters is a distinct plus.
• Native or professional fluency in Italian and excellent working proficiency in English (written and spoken).
