French‑Speaking Accountant – Finance & Accounting

About the role

Avnet, Inc. is looking for a motivated French‑speaking Accountant to join its South Europe Accounting Team in Milan. You will support the French entities of the Avnet Group, handling a range of finance and accounting activities in a fast‑paced, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor day‑to‑day financial operations and oversee automated processes for sales, purchases, AR, AP and non‑trade payables.
• Manage cash, prepare payments and produce related reports.
• Maintain and review financial records, including fixed‑asset ledger, payroll postings and month‑end accruals.
• Perform intercompany and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accuracy of accounting data, handle general accounting, VAT returns and coordinate with tax/legal consultants.
• Interact with auditors to resolve accounting issues promptly.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes, controls and tools, and support ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in general and tax accounting.
• Fluent in English, Italian and French.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles and French GAAP (advantage).
• High attention to detail, reliability and curiosity.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• SAP (experience considered an advantage)
