Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer for 3D Scanning Company

About the role

We are looking for an Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer to join a market‑leading 3D scanning company. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the compute infrastructure that powers state‑of‑the‑art computer vision and machine learning pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Provision, configure and maintain heterogeneous CPU/GPU compute clusters across multiple locations.
• Design and implement dynamic compute and storage provisioning based on workload demand.
• Develop storage solutions at hardware and software levels (NAS, distributed filesystems, tiering).
• Implement and manage container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Write infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform and Ansible.
• Build and optimise job scheduling systems (Slurm, Kubernetes) and resource allocation.
• Set up monitoring, alerting and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, IPMI).
• Profile and optimise system performance: GPU utilisation, memory bandwidth, I/O throughput, network latency.
• Manage networking, VPNs and secure access across distributed systems.
• Handle reliability concerns including hardware failure detection, job checkpointing and disaster recovery.

Required profile

• Strong Linux system administration experience.
• Hands‑on experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience managing HPC clusters and job schedulers (Slurm).
• Familiarity with monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Solid understanding of networking principles and secure remote access.
• Knowledge of hardware management interfaces (IPMI, BMC) and server maintenance.
• Experience designing storage systems (NFS, Ceph, distributed filesystems).
• Desirable: experience with cloud services (AWS) and bare‑metal provisioning (MaaS).
