Junior Web Frontend Developer

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Junior Web Frontend Developer to join its globally distributed team. You will help design, build, and maintain modern web interfaces for Canonical’s enterprise products, working with cutting‑edge technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, React and Flutter.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement well‑tested, documented front‑end features using JavaScript, CSS, React and Flutter.
• Debug and resolve issues reported by users.
• Participate in code and architectural reviews as part of the engineering process.
• Collaborate with community members and colleagues on technical specifications.
• Contribute to technical documentation and improve engineering practices.
• Deploy, operate, and monitor services developed by the team.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM discipline.
• Strong academic record and a passion for open‑source software.
• Enthusiasm for learning and applying modern web technologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, globally distributed environment.
