Legal Counsel – Commercial & Contracts

About the role

The Legal Counsel will support Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions’ commercial function across Europe, focusing on contract negotiation, renewal and compliance. Working primarily with Italy and Spain, the role ensures that agreements are commercially sound, legally compliant and aligned with internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Support negotiation of customer contracts, especially complex or multi‑jurisdictional agreements, in partnership with European legal teams.
• Collaborate with Sales and Services teams in Italy and Spain to structure deals, draft contracts and ensure timely closure.
• Maintain and adapt standard contract templates for European markets, ensuring commercial robustness and legal compliance.
• Assist European Sales teams in responding to RFPs, RFIs and tender processes, coordinating inputs from internal stakeholders and managing a repository of standard responses.
• Co‑own the contract lifecycle management process, reviewing customer and supplier agreements and engaging Finance, Tax and Business Controls as needed.
• Support compliance initiatives across Europe, including data‑privacy regulations, NIS2, the Cyber Resilience Act and related legal requirements.

Required profile

• Law degree with experience in commercial contract negotiation and management.
• Familiarity with multi‑jurisdictional agreements and European regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams such as Sales, Services, Finance and Legal.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to risk management throughout the contract lifecycle.
