NDT Engineer – Asset Based Services (ABSER)

About the role

Saipem is seeking an experienced NDT Engineer to join the Asset Based Services Business Line within the PIPEN department. The role focuses on managing non‑destructive testing activities for pipeline and subsea projects, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply relevant codes, standards, and contractual documents for NDT and welding.
• Prepare, verify, and approve procedures for a wide range of NDT methods (AUT, PAUT, TOFD, MUT, RT, CR, RTR, MT, PT, VT).
• Select appropriate inspection techniques and develop project specifications for subcontractors.
• Witness and guide qualification tests, supervise AUT/PAUT qualifications, and ensure compliance with DNV‑ST‑F101, ASME V codes, and equivalent standards.
• Provide technical guidance to NDT technicians on on‑shore and off‑shore sites.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Production, or Electronics.
• Minimum 5 years of NDT engineering experience in the oil & gas sector.
• Proven experience with pipeline, piping, and structural projects, preferably in multi‑disciplinary and multicultural environments.
• Fluent English (minimum B1 level).

Required skills

• AUT, PAUT, TOFD, MUT, RT, CR, RTR, MT, PT, VT
• EN ISO Level 2 certification in UT, RT, MPI and PTPAUT
• EN ISO Level 3 certification in UT (preferred)
• Knowledge of DNV‑ST‑F101 and ASME V codes
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and ultrasonic analysis software (e.g., ESBeam)
