Nurse Practitioner - Refugee Health

About the role

The InterCommunity Health Centre in London, Ontario is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join its Refugee Health Clinic. This position supports newcomers and refugees throughout the continuum of care, addressing health promotion and complex needs related to poverty, addiction, mental health, and housing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary care services to refugees and other marginalized clients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and external providers to develop and coordinate comprehensive care plans.
• Deliver health education and promotion within a culturally sensitive framework.
• Document clinical encounters in accordance with centre policies and regulatory standards.
• Participate in case conferences, community outreach, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse Practitioner credential recognized in Ontario.
• Experience or strong interest in primary care, community health, or refugee health.
• Ability to work with diverse, vulnerable populations and navigate complex social determinants of health.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
