Principal Analog IP Design Lead – MCU

About the role

NXP is building a new team in Catania to develop high‑impact microcontrollers for AI at the Edge. The Principal Analog IP Design Lead will define, implement and validate analog and mixed‑signal IP blocks for MCUs, driving innovative circuit architectures and ensuring high‑quality silicon.

Key responsibilities

• Define analog/mixed‑signal IP specifications based on product requirements and drive innovative circuit architectures.
• Own end‑to‑end implementation, simulation, layout and validation of IP such as ADCs, DACs, PLLs, oscillators and other analog blocks.
• Lead design reviews, create comprehensive IP documentation and support productization activities including production testing and life‑testing.
• Collaborate with SOC teams, digital designers and verification engineers to ensure seamless integration of IP into SOC products.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in electronic or electrical engineering.
• 10+ years of product development experience in analog/mixed‑signal design.
• Strong communication, teamwork and mentoring skills, with experience leading small engineering teams.

Required skills

• Design experience with ADC, DAC, PLL, crystal and free‑running oscillators, LDO, DC‑DC converters, amplifiers or filters.
• Proficiency in behavioral and transistor‑level simulation (AMS, DMS, Matlab, SystemC or equivalent).
• Hands‑on experience with layout, verification and IP documentation.
