Regional Head of Transportation

About the role

The Regional Head of Transportation will shape and execute the transport strategy for Hilti in Italy, covering distribution and after‑market service. You will be responsible for ensuring reliable, safe, and high‑quality transportation that meets customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the portfolio of transportation providers, develop and monitor contracts, and maintain strong relationships.
• Negotiate transport topics such as parcels, pallets, and chartering within RFQ processes.
• Control costs through monthly performance reviews, billing analysis, and continuous‑improvement actions.
• Oversee the transport budget, providing critical analysis and reporting.
• Drive performance using KPIs (MBR Scorecard, Regional TRR, OTIF, CX) and improve data quality in SAP.
• Ensure service levels align with customer expectations and business strategy.
• Lead cross‑functional and international projects, deploy strategic initiatives, and embed best practices.
• Conduct Lean continuous‑improvement actions focused on quality, cost, and service level of carriers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a negotiation‑focused role.
• Fluent in Italian and English.
• Proven experience in contract negotiation and deep knowledge of the Italian transport market.
• Demonstrated management and leadership experience.
