Curricular Internship for Thesis – Optimizing AUTOSAR Code Generation

About the role

ETAS GmbH, a Bosch Group affiliate, is looking for a final‑year Master’s student to join its Torino team for a paid curricular internship that will serve as the basis for a thesis. The project focuses on optimizing AUTOSAR code generation for resource‑constrained embedded platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Study modern AUTOSAR Classic code‑generation toolchains and their assumptions.
• Analyse generated AUTOSAR software to identify memory, CPU and code‑size optimisation opportunities.
• Develop proof‑of‑concept solutions that improve portability and runtime efficiency on low‑end and automotive‑grade microcontrollers.
• Define a methodology to evaluate software portability and performance across different architectures.
• Perform measurements, benchmarking and reporting of optimisation impacts.
• Collaborate with experienced developers who will provide mentorship.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of a Master’s program in Embedded Systems, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in C.
• Good knowledge of embedded systems, computer architecture and operating systems.
