Evaluation Officer (Office of Evaluation)

About the role

The Office of Evaluation (OED) at FAO seeks an Evaluation Officer to join its team at headquarters in Rome. The role supports the design, execution and dissemination of evaluations that strengthen results‑accountability for the Director‑General and FAO governing bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Compose and manage evaluation teams for programme, project or cluster assessments.
• Support lead evaluators in preparing evaluation reports, briefs and related deliverables.
• Assist in organising meetings, missions, workshops and other evaluation‑related events.
• Monitor methodological developments and contribute to the evolution of evaluation tools and approaches.
• Liaise with other FAO units to promote a results‑based and evaluation‑driven culture.

Required profile

• Strong motivation to generate credible evidence for international development and food‑security programmes.
• Experience working in or with UN agencies, multilateral organisations or similar environments.
• Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and communicate findings to senior decision‑makers.
