Financial Crimes Compliance Officer (Vice President)

About the role

The Financial Crimes Compliance Officer will report to the local Chief Compliance Officer and ensure that the bank’s operations in Italy comply with all relevant legal, regulatory, Group and internal requirements. This senior position, at Vice‑President level, is responsible for developing and maintaining an effective compliance program focused on anti‑money laundering, counter‑terrorist financing, sanctions and anti‑bribery & corruption.

Key responsibilities

• Identify applicable regulatory and Group requirements, assess impact on existing processes, and advise local and HQ management on gaps.
• Provide risk‑based advice on client onboarding and transaction monitoring, and validate internal policies and procedures.
• Assess the adequacy of organizational measures to mitigate FCC risk and recommend enhancements.
• Coordinate FCC activities with the 1st Line of Defense and ensure timely reporting to the FCC department and HQ officers.
• Deliver training sessions, share best practices across the bank, and support the Chief Compliance Officer in product risk assessments and regulatory reporting.

Required profile

• University degree in law, business administration, finance or economics; a master’s in Compliance or related field is a plus.
• At least 7 years of experience in compliance, internal audit or a related function within a banking environment.
• Native Italian speaker with fluent English communication skills.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication abilities, and proven project‑management capabilities.
