Forward Deployed Engineer SWAT (Agentforce) - Milan

About the role

Salesforce is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) SWAT in Milan, Italy. This hands-on role focuses on troubleshooting, fixing and resolving complex issues in live customer deployments of Agentforce and the wider Salesforce platform. You will work with FDE Pods or directly with customers when critical problems arise, owning issues end-to-end from triage to resolution and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose root causes and implement fixes for Agentforce and Salesforce platform issues, communicating clearly with stakeholders under pressure.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering: reproduce and document defects, provide technical evidence, collaborate on fixes and track resolutions to release.
• Identify recurring patterns, share lessons learned with Pods and build reusable diagnostics, runbooks and preventive best practices.
• Design agent intelligence: prompts, reasoning, tool calls and integrations with customer systems using the Agentic AI platform and LLM techniques.
• Own technical components end-to-end, from architecture choice to deployed, validated and observable systems.
• Build and integrate data pipelines on Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, Databricks and customer data platforms, and model, ship and validate them.
• Maintain agent performance dashboards and customer KPI reports, and contribute to proofs-of-concept and MVPs.
• Co-build with customers and partners, surface platform gaps and field insights to senior engineers and the product team, and partner with the Deployment Strategist in your pod.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, ideally in an AI tech stack, full-stack development or with frontier models.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Prior customer-facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services or forward deployed engineering) is required.
• Fluent in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or Apex, and willing to expand the list.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering; understands data modelling, APIs and integration patterns.
• Able to stand up against sales teams and customer architects, and willing to travel about 25% of the time.
