IT Intern – Helpdesk, Security & Networking

About the role

Groupo is looking for an IT Intern to join its growing IT department in Milan. You will work alongside the IT team, gaining hands‑on experience in helpdesk support, information security and networking while developing practical technical skills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line desktop support, troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
• Set up, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, printers and other peripherals.
• Log and track tickets in the IT ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution.
• Assist with implementation and maintenance of information security policies and monitor alerts.
• Support security awareness training for employees.
• Help configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls and wireless access points.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and perform basic diagnostics.
• Participate in network monitoring and performance optimisation activities.
• Collaborate on IT projects and attend training sessions.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree program (senior or graduate student).
• Strong interest in IT operations, security and networking.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of computer hardware.
• Familiarity with operating systems and software applications.
• Knowledge of information security principles.
• Understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and routing.
