Project Assistant (Outreach) – AVRR – Calabria

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Assistant (Outreach) to support the Assisted Voluntary Returns and Reintegration (AVRR) programme in the Calabria region of Italy. Working under the Director of the Coordination Office for the Mediterranean and the Chief of Mission, the role assists the Senior Programme Associate and reports directly to the Project Coordinator.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of AVRR counselling and related outreach activities.
• Support the Training, Assistance and Territorial Support for the Efficiency of Assisted Voluntary Returns project.
• Coordinate with Italian central and local institutions, civil society organisations and diaspora groups.
• Provide direct assistance to migrant populations, including vulnerable groups.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration within a multicultural team.

Required profile

• University degree in International Relations, Law, Social Sciences, Migration Studies, Psychology or related field with at least two years of relevant experience, OR a high school diploma with four years of relevant experience.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in the migration sector.
• Proven experience delivering direct assistance to migrants.
• Experience working with Italian public authorities at central and local levels.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Previous AVRR counselling experience is an asset.

Required skills
