Design & Analysis Development Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Design & Analysis Development Engineer to join CompositesLab, the internal composites unit of ATG Europe. The role focuses on the design, analysis and optimisation of advanced carbon‑fibre‑reinforced polymer (CFRP) lattice and grid‑stiffened structures for space‑flight applications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform top‑level design and system engineering for composite technologies and products.
• Develop detailed CAD models and create design documentation.
• Conduct finite‑element (FE) modelling, analysis and optimisation of composite structures.
• Establish and improve design, analysis and optimisation procedures.
• Prepare technical reports and support design‑for‑manufacturing activities.
• Participate in the manufacturing and testing of prototype components.
• Assist in the preparation of business proposals and customer interfacing.
• Organise, perform and supervise research activities related to composite technologies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of composite materials and CFRP lattice structures.
• Ability to work in a multi‑disciplinary, international team.
• Willingness to undergo a security screening.

Required skills

• CAD modelling (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks).
• Finite‑Element analysis and optimisation.
• Composite material knowledge, especially CFRP.
• Design for manufacturing and testing of composite components.
