Backend Engineer - Remote

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust, scalable backend services for innovative digital products. This fully remote contract position offers the chance to work alongside top‑tier engineers in a fast‑paced, expert environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services and APIs.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and effective backend solutions.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, focusing on root‑cause analysis.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and propose innovative solutions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of proven backend development experience.
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Deep knowledge of system security, authentication, and authorization best practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fully remote, fast‑moving team.
