Cybersecurity Pentester (m/f/d)

About the role

Alpitronic is looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Pentester to join its fast‑growing e‑mobility team. You will focus on testing the security of EV chargers, embedded controllers and backend infrastructures, helping to protect the future of sustainable mobility.

Key responsibilities

• Perform penetration testing on chargers, embedded controllers and backend systems using techniques such as brute‑force, code injection and malformed data.
• Attack and bypass implemented security mitigations using software and hardware methods, including fault injection, glitches and side‑channel attacks.
• Identify weaknesses in charging protocols for electric vehicles and charge point operators.
• Document findings, create detailed reports and support remediation planning.
• Help set up and maintain a distributed penetration‑testing lab, selecting tools, programming languages and scripts.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Electronic/Information Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent professional experience in cybersecurity.
• Strong analytical mindset, self‑motivated and meticulous work style.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Penetration testing techniques (brute‑force, code injection, malformed data).
• Fault injection, glitching and side‑channel attack methods.
• Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, secure boot, authenticated software updates and access control.
• Linux environment proficiency.
• Scanning techniques and hardware security mechanisms (HSM, ARM TrustZone, TPM).
• Reverse engineering, microprocessor/microcontroller debugging and control.
