Head of Functional Safety & Cybersecurity

About the role

Iveco Group is seeking a senior leader to head Functional Safety and Cybersecurity for its electronic vehicle products. The role oversees the design, implementation and lifecycle management of safety and security measures across all projects.

Key responsibilities

• Guide cross‑functional teams to deliver functional safety and cybersecurity results on schedule and with required quality.
• Report safety and security status regularly to product engineering leaders and governance bodies.
• Define and manage the functional safety and cybersecurity budget in coordination with other electronics and platform leads.
• Develop and align the safety and security strategy and roadmap with component and architecture roadmaps.
• Handle escalations with suppliers to resolve critical safety or security issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in functional safety (ISO 26262) and automotive cybersecurity (UNECE ISO 21434, Regulation 155).
• Proven experience in automotive electronic systems development, vehicle electronic architectures and CAN‑based communication (SAE J1939, ISO 14229 UDS).
• Strong project, program and budget management capabilities.
• Excellent moderation, negotiation and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Required skills

• ISO 26262 functional safety standard.
• UNECE ISO 21434 and Regulation 155 cybersecurity standards.
• CAN communication, SAE J1939, ISO 14229 UDS diagnostic protocol.
• Vector CANalyzer (and related tools).
• Electronic component design, qualification and integration.
• Software and hardware requirements definition for automotive applications.
