Field Quality Investigator – Quality Flying Doctor

About the role

Leapmotor International is looking for a Field Quality Investigator, often called the "Quality Flying Doctor," to travel to the source of automotive quality issues and conduct deep‑dive technical analyses. You will bridge customer‑reported problems with engineering solutions, directly influencing product quality, warranty costs, and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to dealerships, repair shops, and customer sites to inspect vehicles with quality concerns.
• Interview customers, service technicians, and field engineers to gather first‑hand issue details.
• Collect and record Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), live data streams, and vehicle logs.
• Perform issue reappearance tests to confirm problems and define test conditions.
• Compile evidence (photos, videos, data logs, measurements) into concise reports.
• Conduct initial triage to categorize root‑cause (design flaw, manufacturing/process, component failure).
• Log and track new field issues in quality management systems and build Pareto analyses.
• Manage key Field Quality KPIs and present weekly/monthly synthesis reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive quality, field service engineering, diagnostics, or a similar investigative role.
• Strong understanding of automotive systems and diagnostic procedures.
