Trainee Lawyer – Finance (Investment Management)

About the role

Join DLA Piper’s Investment Management and Funds team in Rome as a Trainee Lawyer. You will support partners and senior lawyers in advising Italian and international asset‑management firms on the formation and management of alternative investment funds across real estate, private equity, venture capital and private debt, as well as institutional investors.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and due‑diligence on fund structures and financial‑services regulations.
• Assist in drafting legal opinions, contracts and other client documents.
• Analyse contractual agreements and support the preparation of governance, internal‑control and remuneration policies.
• Engage directly with client matters, contributing to the team’s advisory work.

Required profile

• Law degree with strong academic results.
• Intention to sit for the first session of the Italian Bar Exam in 2027 (preferred).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in Italian and English.
• Service‑oriented, organized, able to meet deadlines and work collaboratively.

Required skills
