Legal Counsel – In‑house role in Rome

About the role

Huawei Europe is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its Italian Legal Department in Rome. The role provides business‑oriented legal support across Huawei’s Italian operations, focusing on ICT, telecommunications and renewable‑energy product contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial and operational agreements in English and Italian, including distribution, sales, supply, services, procurement, marketing, partnership, NDA, framework and finance contracts.
• Support IT/TMT transactions and contracting models, collaborating with sales, procurement, delivery, finance and other internal stakeholders.
• Handle corporate and governance matters for the Italian subsidiary, such as corporate documentation, powers of attorney, board and shareholder issues, and implementation of group policies.
• Advise on commercial, civil, business and regulatory matters arising from daily operations, monitoring legislative and regulatory developments relevant to IT, telecom and technology products.
• Prepare and update official documents, internal policies, templates, legal opinions, awareness materials and management briefings.
• Assist compliance activities, including Legislative Decree 231/2001, anti‑bribery and related matters.

Required profile

• Law degree with a valid qualification to practice in Italy.
• Proven experience in corporate, commercial and ICT‑related legal work.
• Strong ability to work with senior management and cross‑functional teams.
• Fluent in English and Italian, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Knowledge of IT/TMT contracting models and regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with corporate governance and compliance requirements, including Legislative Decree 231/2001.
