Project Associate – Climate Mobility Innovation Lab

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Associate to support the Climate Mobility Innovation Lab (CMIL) Mediterranean hub. Based in Rome, the associate will work under the Director of the Climate Action Division and the Chief of CMIL, contributing to the monitoring and administrative management of climate‑migration projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in project monitoring and reporting for CMIL Mediterranean activities.
• Support budget monitoring, financial tracking, and verification of fund availability.
• Coordinate administrative tasks with programme, finance, and headquarters units.
• Ensure compliance with IOM financial rules, donor requirements, and internal procedures.
• Prepare financial reports and documentation for project stakeholders.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least five years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field with three years of experience.
• Experience in finance, accounting, budget monitoring or administrative support, preferably within an international organization or public sector.
• Proven ability to track expenditures, verify fund availability, and support financial reporting.
• Familiarity with financial rules, procedures and donor compliance.
