Senior Android Engineer – Mobile Apps

About the role

Eight Sleep is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to lead the development of its flagship mobile app, the primary interface for members to control sleep‑tracking hardware and view personalized insights. You will work closely with backend, firmware, machine‑learning engineers and product teams to deliver a high‑quality, performant experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and ship new features for the Android app using Kotlin and modern architectural patterns.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (R&D, Growth, Hardware, leadership) to define requirements and ensure seamless integration with hardware and cloud services.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards and mentor junior engineers.
• Optimize app performance, memory usage and battery impact.
• Maintain pixel‑perfect UI with smooth animations and ensure accessibility.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience delivering high‑quality native Android applications.
• Proven track record in fast‑moving, hyper‑growth startup environments.
• Passion for health‑tech and wellness products.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
