Senior FinCrime Analyst Italy

About the role

Swan.io is looking for a Senior FinCrime Analyst to join its Financial Crime team in Milan. You will safeguard the company’s financial operations by detecting and mitigating money‑laundering, fraud, sanctions, and other illicit activities, with a focus on Italian corporate customers.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse escalated transaction patterns from the first‑line team to identify potential money‑laundering or fraudulent activity.
• Perform sanctions and politically‑exposed‑person (PEP) screenings and conduct due‑diligence checks as required.
• Lead in‑depth investigations of suspicious activities and prepare Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in line with Italian AML regulations.
• Support fraud response efforts, including chargeback analysis, unauthorized transfer investigations, and phishing incident handling.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of FinCrime procedures and controls, ensuring alignment with Italian regulatory expectations.
• Prepare, draft, and submit SARs to the Italian Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) using the Infostat‑UIF platform.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial crime analysis, AML compliance, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of Italian AML regulations and sanctions frameworks.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with compliance, legal, and operations teams.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail.
