Record-to-Report Team Lead – Italy

About the role

Customs Support Group is seeking a hands‑on Record‑to‑Report (R2R) Team Lead for its Italian operations. You will shape centralized finance processes, drive the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, and lead a multi‑entity R2R team in a fast‑growing, PE‑backed environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Italian R2R team, ensuring clear ownership and high‑quality delivery.
• Coordinate monthly close across Italian legal entities, aligning with GL specialists and meeting Group deadlines.
• Act as first‑level escalation for complex accounting matters, including Group GAAP and Italian GAAP.
• Review balance‑sheet reconciliations, manage statutory requirements (VAT, Intrastat) and support audit readiness.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities using modern R2R tools and AI.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in audit, accounting, R2R or controllership, preferably with a Big Four background.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of balance‑sheet, P&L, accruals, provisions and intercompany accounting.
• Proven ability to lead and coach teams while maintaining a hands‑on operational approach.
• Self‑motivated, structured and capable of thriving in a simultaneous ERP implementation and finance transformation.
