Accountant – International Retail & Fashion (Milan)

About the role

We are seeking an Accountant to join our international retail and fashion company in Milan. The role supports the finance function for multiple European subsidiaries and works closely with the Group CFO and international finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping for subsidiaries in France, the UK, Spain, Portugal and other European countries.
• Execute monthly closings, balance‑sheet reconciliations, general‑ledger and accounts‑payable postings, payroll bookings and intercompany reconciliations.
• Prepare individual and consolidated financial statements in accordance with local GAAP requirements.
• Coordinate with external accounting and tax consultants to ensure compliance and consistent processes.
• Oversee tax‑related matters with support from external experts.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal departments, the Group Finance team and external auditors.
• Assist the Head of Accounting with ad‑hoc reporting and special projects.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of experience as an Accountant in a multinational environment, preferably in retail or consumer goods.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards for several European countries, especially France and the UK.
• Fluent in Italian (minimum B2) and English (minimum B2); German is a plus.
• Proven ability to work with foreign accounting providers and to cooperate with international finance partners.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
