Accounting Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous Accounting Specialist to join our finance team in Trieste. You will own the full accounts‑payable cycle, ensure strict compliance with tax regulations and support the preparation of VAT and cross‑border reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, register and verify supplier invoices (domestic, EU and non‑EU).
• Check correct application of VAT rates, reverse charge and split‑payment mechanisms.
• Maintain VAT registers and prepare monthly/quarterly VAT returns (LIPE) and assist with tax returns.
• Reconcile supplier accounts and support external consultants for yearly VAT declarations.
• Prepare INTRASTAT and Esterometro reports on cross‑border transactions.
• Manage intent letters and ensure compliance with Italian accounting regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as an Accounting Specialist in an international environment.
• Strong negotiation and mediation abilities.
• Deep knowledge of Italian accounting and tax regulations.
• Fluent English; Italian language proficiency implied by location.
