Advocacy and Outreach Intern

About the role

The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) is seeking an Advocacy and Outreach Intern for its Rome Liaison Office. This hybrid, full‑time internship offers hands‑on experience supporting visibility and advocacy activities that promote UNICRI’s work on crime prevention and criminal justice.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Rome Liaison Office team with daily tasks related to visibility and advocacy.
• Support the organization of conferences, specialized courses, symposia, workshops and expert meetings.
• Conduct internet research on thematic issues relevant to UNICRI’s programmes.
• Maintain and update the office website with news and events.
• Help communicate new projects and follow up on initiatives financed by the Italian Foreign Ministry.
• Facilitate meetings with government officials and represent UNICRI at events in Rome.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate with interest in international crime prevention, public policy or communications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Italian is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid setting and meet deadlines.
• Access to a computer and reliable internet connection for remote work.
