About the role

As an Applied Scientist on the Alexa AI team, you will drive the creation and deployment of cutting‑edge machine‑learning and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) systems that shape how millions of users interact with Alexa. You will translate the latest AI research into reliable, high‑performance features that enhance the voice assistant experience worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze large‑scale customer behavior data and design novel metrics for personal digital assistants across diverse devices.
• Develop and implement deep‑learning, policy‑based learning, and other machine‑learning algorithms that directly improve user interactions.
• Build and maintain automated model training and evaluation pipelines, including rigorous online A/B testing.
• Collaborate with engineering, science, and business teams to launch customer‑facing AI features.
• Take ownership of production systems, including on‑call duties and rapid resolution of high‑severity issues.

Required profile

• Strong research background in machine learning, natural language processing, or related fields.
• Experience moving AI prototypes from research to production at scale.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment while delivering measurable impact.
