Architect Internship – Community Design & Urban Planning

About the role

Extramus is offering an unpaid architect internship focused on community design and urban planning. The position is open to EU‑based students who can relocate to Italy and participate through the Erasmus trainee‑ship programme or a scholarship.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare community design plans and conceptual, schematic, and preliminary urban designs.
• Conduct community outreach, facilitate group meetings and inter‑departmental cooperation.
• Analyse projects, make recommendations and provide overall management and design.
• Prepare construction plans and specifications for landscape improvement projects.
• Plan and organise public improvement and redevelopment projects.
• Supervise and evaluate the work of subordinates where applicable.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an architecture, engineering or related study programme in Europe.
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations and design principles.
• Excellent drawing, drafting and design abilities.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience in architecture or related field is a plus; project‑management experience is advantageous.
