Assistant Manager – Retail Store

About the role

The Assistant Manager will help ensure the store runs smoothly, delivering excellent customer service and a fresh food offering in a clean, safe environment. Working closely with the Store Manager, you will support key store targets for sales, profitability and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Live the Centra brand values and act as a role model for the team.
• Set, monitor and achieve sales, gross profit, net margin, waste and other KPI targets.
• Implement planograms and maintain the correct product range.
• Merchandise and present the store to the highest visual standards.
• Support the Store Manager in training, performance management and day‑to‑day operations.
• Handle customer queries professionally and in line with store policy.
• Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a retail or similar supervisory role.
• Strong work ethic, commercial awareness and passion for grocery retail.
• Ability to meet KPIs, drive sales and manage waste.
• Excellent communication and delegation skills.
