Assistant Purchasing Manager – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Lake Como EDITION is seeking an Assistant Purchasing Manager to support the Purchasing Manager in daily procurement activities across all hotel departments. This position ensures timely ordering, receiving, storing, and distribution of goods while maintaining high standards of quality and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and monitor inventory levels to meet operational needs.
• Coordinate with approved suppliers, obtain competitive quotations, and track deliveries.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and compliance with company policies.
• Support inventory controls, conduct regular counts, and enforce FIFO procedures.
• Assist in month‑end stocktaking and report shortages or overstock situations.
• Verify proper storage conditions, sanitation standards, and quality of received goods.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, hospitality management, supply chain or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, cost control or finance within hospitality.
• Previous experience in luxury hotel environments is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively with Food & Beverage, Culinary, Finance and operations teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with inventory management systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
