Backend QA Engineer (Onsite)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend QA Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance and scalability of our backend systems. The role is fully onsite at our Lisbon office, where you will work closely with engineers and product teams to design and execute tests for APIs, databases and services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and run manual and automated tests for backend APIs, databases and service integrations.
• Validate API functionality and performance using tools such as Postman and Swagger.
• Test database operations, queries and data integrity in PostgreSQL.
• Review pull requests to ensure code quality and adequate test coverage.
• Maintain automated test suites for backend services.
• Identify reliability or performance issues in backend infrastructure.
• Document defects, test cases and results using TestRail or similar tools.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to improve testing strategies.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience with backend technologies and quality assurance.
• Hands‑on experience with Node.js and TypeScript in backend environments.
• Familiarity with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience testing REST APIs using Postman, Swagger or comparable tools.
• Ability to work onsite and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
