Budget and Finance Assistant

About the role

The Budget and Finance Assistant will work in the Centralized Management Unit of UNICRI in Turin, supporting the Senior Finance and Budget Assistant and the Chief of the unit. The role involves handling payments, treasury operations, accounting entries, and budget monitoring for UNICRI projects and the Trust Fund.

Key responsibilities

• Process service payments to vendors, partners, and staff in line with UN Financial Regulations.
• Serve as the Treasury focal point: verify banking details, track payment statuses, and communicate with payees.
• Review and analyse UNICRI accounts, prepare vouchers, and assist with year‑end reporting.
• Support the Trust Fund by monitoring voluntary contributions and monthly expenditures.
• Extract and analyse financial data using SAP and UMOJA, prepare expenditure reports, and highlight discrepancies.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of senior finance staff.
• Familiarity with UN Financial Regulations and Rules.
• Attention to detail in processing payments and reconciling accounts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP financial modules.
• Experience using the UN Umoja ERP system.
• Competence in financial accounting software and advanced spreadsheet analysis.
