Business Analyst – Financial Planning

About the role

Objectway is seeking a Business Analyst to join a product team that is replacing a legacy financial planning model with a modern, scalable system. You will translate complex financial planning logic into clear, developer‑ready requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Product Manager to convert financial planning concepts into actionable requirements.
• Analyze the existing Excel‑based model, extract underlying logic and rules.
• Decompose interconnected calculations (tax, cash flow, investment growth) into modular components and flows.
• Document data relationships, calculation logic, and system behavior, including data flows and entity relationships.
• Define how changes in one part of the system impact others (e.g., cash flow effects on tax).
• Work closely with developers and QA to ensure requirements are clear, testable, and validated against expected financial outcomes.
• Apply consistent design patterns across features to support scalability.
• Participate in UX/UI design discussions with a focus on usability and logical flow.

Required profile

• Familiarity with financial planning concepts such as cash flow, investments, tax, and retirement.
• Quick ability to build domain understanding.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to break down complex systems.
• Experience translating numerical or financial logic into structured requirements.
• Background in data models, workflows, or system design.
• Proven experience working in agile teams, managing user stories and iterative feedback cycles.
• Clear communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Comfort with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and diagramming software.
