Buyer – Indirect Procurement (General Services)

About the role

Exide Technologies is seeking a Buyer to manage the purchase of services and indirect products for its Romano di Lombardia site. The role focuses on general services, maintenance activities, and CAPEX contracting while supporting broader indirect spend initiatives and group reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve supply issues and implement sourcing solutions.
• Evaluate Make/Buy, Rent/Buy, and outsourcing options to drive cost reductions.
• Manage purchase orders and contracts to ensure timely delivery.
• Support annual purchasing budget preparation and monitor performance against budget.
• Maintain supplier performance, initiate development programs, and ensure compliance with ISO, health & safety, and corporate purchasing policies.
• Review and improve purchase‑to‑pay processes for efficiency.
• Participate in pan‑European and cross‑site sourcing initiatives.

Required profile

• Up to 5 years of experience as a buyer in a mechanical/manufacturing environment, preferably handling indirect spend.
• Degree in Economics, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in English (minimum B1 level).
• Effective communicator and team player.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (MS Suite) proficiency.
• Knowledge of ERP systems.
• Ability to leverage AI tools for procurement tasks.
