CAPEX Controller – Investment Project Management

About the role

The CAPEX Controller will join the Finance function of Prysmian’s Transmission Business Unit in Milan. Reporting to the CAPEX Manager, the role supports the governance of manufacturing investments, ensuring projects are planned, funded, and executed in line with the Group’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the CAPEX team in preparing comprehensive business cases, outlining financial aspects, risks, and expected returns.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, R&D, and plant teams to define project budgets and align them with overall financial goals.
• Monitor supplier saturation, identify alternative suppliers, and seek spending efficiencies together with the Procurement team.
• Track project progress (time, orders, budget) alongside Project Engineers, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Define the project breakdown structure, monitor expenditures, and produce cost projections for project completion.
• Identify budget variances promptly, propose corrective actions, and generate regular economic reports.
• Conduct post‑project financial analysis to compare actual results with initial forecasts.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Management Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in budget management and project accounting.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and investment projects in production facilities is a plus.
• Experience with EPCI projects or procurement processes is advantageous.
• Strong analytical mindset, problem‑solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to interact with senior management across functions.
• Fluent in English and Italian, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
