Category Marketing Manager

About the role

The Category Marketing Manager joins ghd’s marketing team to drive growth across specific product categories. You will be responsible for the positioning, communication and commercialisation of new innovations, ensuring each category meets customer demand and aligns with the broader brand strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse category performance on a local basis, including market share (value and volume) and competitor activity.
• Conduct pricing analysis and develop local pricing proposals.
• Monitor KPIs, identify improvement areas and implement corrective actions.
• Generate regular reports and provide launch and campaign feedback to internal teams.
• Recommend new product concepts based on market intelligence and category insights.
• Analyse product attributes, claims, pricing and positioning to optimise reach, sales and profit.
• Design an annual promotional plan for each category to meet national sales objectives.
• Ensure category profitability and growth in line with the company’s marketing strategy.
• Leverage digital expertise and a strong understanding of social media networks to support category initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in category management or similar marketing roles.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret market data and consumer purchasing behaviour.
• Capability to customise category offerings to meet customer demands.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with product development, sales and communications teams.
• Affinity for digital channels and a solid understanding of social media triggers.
