Climate Consultant – Youth Fellowship on Climate Education (Remote, 12 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Climate Consultant to support the Youth Fellowship on Climate Education. The consultant will provide technical leadership and strategic support across research, foresight, learning and governance workstreams, focusing on systems thinking, evidence synthesis and policy‑relevant outputs. The assignment is 12 months, remote, and aims to strengthen UNICEF’s evidence base on climate education and intergenerational governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and integration of research outputs, youth‑led climate education “Bright Spots”, and strategic synthesis materials.
• Ensure methodological consistency across workstreams and apply foresight methodologies.
• Support evidence synthesis, knowledge production and the creation of policy‑relevant deliverables.
• Facilitate translation of youth insights into learning resources, dissemination materials and governance‑oriented knowledge products.
• Contribute to institutional learning and systems transformation related to climate education and youth participation.

Required profile

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in climate change, education, public policy, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in research design, evidence synthesis, and foresight or systems‑thinking approaches.
• Proven ability to work with youth‑led initiatives and intergenerational governance processes.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a focus on policy relevance.
