Communication Specialist – Generation Unlimited (Temporary, P-4)

About the role

UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited programme is seeking a Communication Specialist (P-4) on a temporary, fixed‑term basis in Rome. The incumbent will lead the development and execution of communication strategies that raise awareness, drive investment and inspire action to skill and connect youth worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor the overall communication strategy, priorities and campaigns for Generation Unlimited.
• Engage influential voices and organise special events to amplify the programme’s impact.
• Provide support for resource mobilisation through targeted communication initiatives.
• Build and maintain partnerships across public, private and youth networks.
• Track and evaluate communication KPIs to ensure effectiveness.
• Produce multimedia storytelling content that showcases impact.
• Oversee management functions related to communication activities.
• Deliver capacity‑building support to partners and internal teams.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree.
• Proven experience in communications, advocacy or public‑relations within an international or development context.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups and manage complex campaigns.
