Construction Manager

About the role

The company is a fast‑growing player in the global Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) market, delivering utility‑scale projects across EMEA. Based in Milan, the Construction Manager will lead the delivery of large‑scale energy storage and renewable energy projects, ensuring they are built on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and manage construction contractors and EPC partners, supporting supplier qualification, tendering and procurement activities.
• Lead construction tender processes, preparing and coordinating subcontractor bid packages in line with local and global standards.
• Review and validate technical, commercial and contractual documentation for quality, compliance and timely submission.
• Develop construction cost estimates and installation budgets, supporting commercial and technical bid evaluations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate construction‑related risks throughout tendering and execution phases.
• Support contract negotiations with contractors and clients, working closely with Legal, Procurement and Commercial teams.
• Conduct site visits, assessments and preliminary construction planning during the pre‑construction phase.
• Develop construction schedules and integrate contractor programmes into the overall project delivery plan.
• Assist Project Managers and Site Managers during construction, including claims and variation management, and provide remote support across the EMEA region.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager in utility‑scale energy storage or renewable energy projects.
• Strong background in managing EPC partners, tender processes and contractor negotiations.
• Ability to assess and mitigate construction risks and to develop accurate cost and schedule forecasts.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal commercial, technical and procurement teams.
