Construction Planning Engineer

About the role

The Construction Planning Engineer supports the home‑office operations that drive site execution. The role focuses on advanced work packaging (AWP), daily progress capture, and coordination between engineering and construction teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate discipline activities with the Completions Manager and final inspections with the Site QA/QC Manager.
• Supervise the Site Document Management Department and enforce filing system guidelines.
• Prepare drawings for special equipment, scaffolds, workstations, and construction aids.
• Arrange procurement, fabrication, and installation of required items.
• Manage engineering support on‑site through the Project Manager and handle RFI correspondence.
• Capture daily progress in Work Face Planning software, analyse schedule performance, and close out RFIs.
• Conduct weekly planning meetings, generate three‑week work plans, and record them in the planning system.
• Request materials via WRFIs, track deliveries, and interface with construction supervisors and subcontractors.
• Document and communicate lessons learned from work‑face plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Approximately 5 years of construction experience.
• Moderate knowledge of MDR construction procedures, progress, material, document, and time‑keeping systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and Access.
• Strong attention to detail, integrity, and a results‑driven work ethic.
