Country Manager & Business Development Director – Italy (Pharma Wholesale)

About the role

This is a green‑field opportunity to launch and lead the Italian operations of a fast‑growing European pharmaceutical group. Based in Milan, you will be the first employee on the ground, responsible for bringing existing commercial traction in‑house and building a sustainable market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of existing client relationships and act as the face of the company in the Italian market.
• Develop new business across hospitals, wholesalers and pharmacy groups.
• Design and execute a commercial plan tailored to each Italian region.
• Recruit, build and lead a sales team as the business scales.

Required profile

• Approximately 8 years of commercial experience in pharmaceutical wholesale or distribution (parallel import, generics or biosimilars are relevant).
• Established network with Italian wholesalers, hospitals and pharmacy decision‑makers.
• Proven track record of creating sales channels and leading teams.
• Native Italian speaker with fluent business English.
• Comfortable with modern digital collaboration tools and remote work across Europe.
• Collaborative, open‑minded attitude, willing to both challenge and be challenged.
