Country Procurement Operations Lead

About the role

The Country Procurement Operations Lead will head the procurement function for the Italian business of a global pharmaceutical company. Reporting into the Global Procurement organisation, the role serves as the primary procurement representative for internal stakeholders, suppliers, auditors and senior leadership in Italy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor the Italy Procurement Operations team.
• Act as the senior local procurement representative across all stakeholder groups.
• Drive implementation of global procurement transformation programmes and operational‑excellence initiatives in Italy.
• Manage change‑management activities to embed new processes and ways of working.
• Own procurement reporting, performance metrics and Source‑to‑Pay compliance.
• Collaborate with audit teams to ensure full regulatory and policy adherence.
• Lead local procurement projects and integrate initiatives into broader operational processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading procurement operations in a multinational, preferably pharmaceutical, environment.
• Strong ability to influence strategic initiatives and work with manufacturing, supply chain, finance and business leaders.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with internal and external parties.
• Demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement and transformation.
