Data Analyst – French Speaker (Bologna)

About the role

Areté, a leading Italian agri‑food intelligence provider, is expanding its Market Intelligence team. The Data Analyst will support clients in the food and agribusiness sectors by analysing commodity markets, building price‑forecast models and helping optimise procurement and risk‑management strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market analysis and develop price‑forecasting models for food‑use commodities.
• Perform risk analysis, volatility management and support financial hedging strategies.
• Maintain and enhance forecasting tools and databases.
• Provide front‑office client relationship support, translating analytical insights into actionable recommendations.

Required profile

• Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Economics or a related discipline.
• 1‑3 years of experience in forecasting, market analysis or the agri‑food sector (preferred).
• Strong proficiency in French (C1/C2) and basic knowledge of Italian.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and a proactive, results‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, Stata).
• Database management.
• Data‑visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
