Data Scientist & Engineer – Real-time Data Pipelines

About the role

Join MSC Technology Italy’s R&D team as a Data Scientist & Engineer. You will design and build advanced, event‑driven pipelines that process real‑time data, while creating statistical models and machine‑learning solutions that turn raw information into actionable insights for the global shipping business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain near real‑time, event‑driven data pipelines on Microsoft Fabric using Eventstream, Eventhouse and Lakehouse components.
• Implement serverless services with Azure Functions to ingest and process streaming events.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable extraction‑transformation‑loading (ETL) flows.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers and domain experts throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure code quality, performance, reliability and continuous improvement of data solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience building data pipelines on Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud data platforms.
• Strong background in mathematical and statistical modelling using Python.
• Ability to work in a cross‑functional, international environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.
