Design Engineer – Powertrain Systems

About the role

The Design Engineer will create and manage design documentation for powertrain components and assemblies, ensuring manufacturability and quality throughout the vehicle development process.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3D models for components and assemblies following project design and CAD guidelines.
• Develop 2D CAD drawings for manufacturing based on current standards and production technologies.
• Perform continuous data quality checks and exchange data with internal departments and external partners.
• Conduct regular design reviews to verify compliance with package boundaries, assembly processes, and manufacturability.
• Maintain and update component documentation in the AVL‑PDM system and Powertrain Database.
• Support lead engineers and project managers during project execution.
• Provide technical assistance to resident engineers.
• Help create documentation for training, knowledge management, and patents.
• Assist internal part procurement through information exchange with customers and suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• Practical experience designing powertrain or vehicle components.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD systems such as Catia and/or Creo.
• Experience defining and applying shape, orientation, and location tolerances.
• Familiarity with automotive industry standards and processes.
• Good to advanced level English language skills.
