DevOps Engineer – Remote (Italy)

About the role

This fully remote position is for a DevOps Engineer based in Italy, working in an international engineering environment. You will build and maintain reliable, scalable infrastructure, modernize existing systems, and strengthen a security‑focused product ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend infrastructure and services, including API gateways and load balancers.
• Develop product features from design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in code, systems, and production environments.
• Operate large‑scale server infrastructure and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated, reliable delivery.
• Create and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and system stability.
• Monitor production performance, identify improvement opportunities, and proactively enhance reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve architecture, technical direction, and system maintainability.
• Support infrastructure modernization initiatives by reducing technical debt and simplifying processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, DevOps engineering, or a related technical role.
• Strong proficiency in at least one high‑level programming language.
• Experience designing and operating backend services with focus on scalability, performance, concurrency, and reliability.
• Hands‑on experience building high‑throughput data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL) and in‑memory databases (Redis).
